State Spending Cannot Buy Real Property Relief in Texas

Austin politicians boast about billions spent on property tax relief, but Texas homeowners know the truth: you never truly own your land when state budgets keep exploding.

This week, Texas state senators convened to examine whether Texans are feeling any actual benefit after the state dedicated over $51 billion toward property tax compression. While legislative leaders from both establishment parties celebrate record appropriations as taxpayer relief, hard-working Texans across the state see the reality on their annual appraisal notices: government grows, state spending climbs, and true property ownership remains an illusion.

The Austin establishment operates on a flawed premise. Funneling tens of billions of taxpayer dollars through state bureaucracies to subsidize local tax rates does not restrain government; it merely shifts the tax burden, increases local dependence on state coffers, and sustains an ever-expanding administrative apparatus. Under the current bipartisan status quo, state spending consistently outpaces population growth and inflation, while genuine property rights remain compromised by appraisal districts and perpetual state-mandated rent.

The Texas Constitution was designed to protect individual liberties, preserve local sovereignty, and strictly limit government intervention. The Constitution Party of Texas maintains that property rights are sacred. A citizen who faces foreclosure for failing to pay perpetual taxes on their home does not truly own their land. Genuine tax relief does not come from record state budgets or bureaucratic shell games. It requires fundamental fiscal integrity, reigning in government mandates, and ultimately abolishing the immoral property tax system in favor of constitutional spending limits.

Texans will not secure their God-given liberties by trusting the two-party establishment that created this fiscal maze. Real reform requires leaders who answer to the Constitution rather than special interests and corporate lobbies.

This November, Texas voters have a principled alternative to the duopoly. The Constitution Party of Texas proudly endorses Jenn Mack as a write-in candidate for Governor of Texas. Jenn Mack stands unapologetically for Faith, Family, and Freedom, championing government accountability, fiscal discipline, and the absolute defense of private property. It is time to restore constitutional government to the Lone Star State.
