Infrastructure Overreach: Why Texas Needs Constitutional Accountability

As the state greenlights massive new transmission projects, Texans are left questioning the lack of transparency and the erosion of property rights. It is time for a governor who puts people first.

This week, the Public Utility Commission of Texas once again moved to greenlight massive, first-of-their-kind transmission lines, following a pattern of rapid infrastructure expansion that often leaves landowners and local communities in the dark. While the state claims these projects are necessary for our grid, the process frequently bypasses the rigorous transparency and accountability that the people of Texas deserve. When the government prioritizes corporate interests and rapid expansion over the constitutional rights of its citizens, it is a clear sign that the establishment has lost its way. The Texas Constitution was designed to protect the individual, not to facilitate the unchecked growth of state-sanctioned projects that infringe upon private property and fiscal integrity. We see this same lack of transparency in other areas of state government, from the Legislative Budget Board’s recent reports on foster care spending to the general mismanagement of our state’s resources. The political establishment in Austin has become comfortable with a system that operates behind closed doors, leaving everyday Texans to pay the price for decisions they had no voice in. We do not need more of the same from the two-party machine. We need a return to the foundational principles of our state: Faith, Family, and Freedom. We need a leader who understands that government exists to serve the people, not to dictate to them. Jenn Mack is that leader. As our endorsed write-in candidate for Governor, Jenn Mack is committed to strengthening our power grid and water infrastructure through honest, transparent, and constitutional means. She is running to restore government accountability and ensure that Texas interests—not special interests—always come first. It is time to stop settling for the status quo.
